KIBALE NATIONAL PARK – QUEEN ELIZABETH N. PARK – BWINDI NATIONAL PARK [BY ROAD / RETURN BY AIR] [Enquire for Reduced Price, if 10-HOUR Road Return is preferred].

Day 1:: Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park.

Start at 0730, and drive westward towards Kibale Forest National Park. Lunch at Garden Restaurant in Fort Portal City. Afterward, drive on to Primate Lodge, or Chimpundu Lodge inside the park, or to Ndali Lodge outside the park. Rest of the afternoon is spent at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge, or Primate Lodge, or Chimpundu Lodge.

Day 2:: Explore Kibale Forest National Park.

Breakfast at the lodge, morning chimp-tracking in the Kibale National Park. You get a chance to hear the noisy chimps and other primates crashing around through the high canopy of the forest. Warm lunch at the Primate Lodge, or at Chimpundu Lodge. In the afternoon, we visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary in Magombe Swamp – a haven for birds! Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge, or Primate Lodge, or Chimpundu Lodge.

Day 3:: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Wake up for early check out & breakfast. From 08h00 – start morning drive via short-cut to Queen Elizabeth. Visit Katwe Salt Works to see where Uganda’s Table salt is mined, before check-in and lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge. A brief siesta before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge – [Classic Rooms or Tents].

Day 4:: Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Breakfast at the lodge. Enjoy a whole morning game drive in another part of the park. Find large herds of elephants, buffalo, or Uganda Kob as you search for lions in the thickets. We utilize the last hours of the morning visiting Lake Katwe Salt Mines to see where Uganda gets her table salt and mineral salts to animals. We return to our lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, we take a unique 2-Hour Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. The trip passes through possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa and many mammals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. The cruise offers an excellent platform for photography and game viewing. Bird life is occasionally very colorful and abundant here. These two game drives and the boat trip are a memorable discovery of the diverse array of Ugandan wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge, or similar.

Day 5:: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Breakfast at the lodge. Departure for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Journey takes us via Ishsha – a section of Queen Elizabeth Park – famous for tree-climbing lions. On a lucky day, one could see lions up in a tree. Drive out of the savannah, and view banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long curving horns. You ascend into the Kigezi Highlands, commonly known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, with terraced farming and mountain scenery. Check in at our camp in Bwindi to spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight: Mahogany Springs, Engagi Lodge, or similar

Day 6:: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, today we enter the gorilla sanctuary carrying our lodge-provided lunch-boxes for our adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular. The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savoured. Many find it to be a rare and moving opportunity. Day 7:: Bwindi – Domestic Flight from Kihihi Airstrip – Entebbe.

Breakfast at our lodge. Then transfer from Bwindi to Kihihi Airstrip to catch a domestic flight to Entebbe. Happy return with great memories of moments spent with the fascinating Mountain Gorilla. Upon landing at Entebbe at about 11h30, make you onward flight connections. If your flight is departing late in the night, a day-room idea at Best Western Premier – EBB, or Entebbe Protea Hotel is sound. We transfer you there and back to the airport. End of Services.
